Tradewater River

From its humble beginnings in north/central Christian County, KY, the Tradewater River meanders through over 110 miles of interesting bottom lands, bluffs, timber and rock outcrops before spilling into the Ohio River near Salem, KY. Throughout its entire length, the river provide breathless scenery and outdoor delight for the casual or dedicated canoe/kayak enthusiast.

In addition to the natural beauty the river provides, along the way you’ll experience the beauty of the only remaining milldam existing on any of western Kentucky’s waterways.

Tradewater Wildlife Along the Way
Deer, wild turkey, blue heron, wood duck, beaver, muskrat, an occasional coyote, bobcat, and a vast array of birds are frequent visitors to the river‘s edge while you paddle. Be sure to take your camera and lots of film. You’ll be glad you did.
